Hi Marisa, I just found your blog after reading your book and am so grateful for your work. I’m a new believer (five years) and was always a gentle parent with my daughter who’s 14 now. I was so shocked to discover this dark world of Christian parenting and couldn’t understand how the most loving of paths - following Jesus - could be using such abusive parenting methods.

Thank you for this. I don’t think most people understand how dangerous DW and his affiliates are. His teachings have infiltrated a church here in my town and the results are disastrous. I hope folks who read this trying to defend or clear his name will ask themselves this question: does this style of authoritarian domination seem anything at all like how Jesus treats you?

I don’t think it’s quite as extreme in the UK but I still come across people who read Dobson when their kids were small.
