Our sermons are from the lectionary, and today our pastor preached about so-called "nonsense," based on how the disciples received the women's account of Jesus's resurrection and the empty tomb. I looked up the Greek word "lēros": idle tales, nonsense, humbug, twaddle. Our pastor also mentioned it could connote an agricultural word that refers to the stuff that comes from bulls and fertilizes fields (I tried finding this but couldn't with a quick search...I will ask). So harsh! But they were right. They were brave. And God honored them with the unprecedented privilege of being the first to preach the good news.

I want to be that brave!

Too little attention is given to the women in the resurrection story, so thank you for bringing them into the limelight a little!
